Leadership Portfolio and Business Plan Thesis

At the very beginning of my journey of learning how to master a structured business plan at Full Sail University, I have learned how to manage a team by presenting my skills and strength with my classmates in a course called Project Team and Management. My favorite class overall. One of my
best experiences with this course was learning how to manage a portion of production while travelling and learning how to network and communicate wireless with a team across the nation.

In between time, I was in the process of completing an internship with CBS WTVF News Channel 5 (the Nashville based channel 5+) in Nashville, Tennessee. This was a very high accomplishment during the school. I have taken this experience as an example of a leadership activity. I was the only intern for 5+ of the news station so I had to manage time with producing the show, operating the cameras, and guiding others to follow in my direction as the producer. I had the opportunity to practice in every department except the engineering on cables.

Business Storytelling and Brand Development developed knowledge within me to understand how to gain clientele and function a proper business. The 22 Laws of Branding was an instructed book that was needed to complete the course. I enjoyed every chapter of this book because it taught me how to think as the brand and develop the brand in my speech, product, and presentation. My favorite brand overall, is the “Law of the Name”, by making this name it will last forever especially if it is clever.

“Don’t confuse what makes a brand successful in the short term with what makes a brand successful in the long term.” (Ries, Al and Laura)

The leadership activity was used in this process was actually making Pink Poodles Party Productions come into existence. Pink Poodles had their first party. It was the grand opening for “Imported Designs”, Home Décor and Consignment Boutique.

Entertainment Business Finance, two words: “A Challenge”. This course impacted expertness on calculating funds and other requirements needed to make profit off business sales such as daily spending and other depletions. E.g. What is the relationship between the time value of moneyand inflation? This was a question that was considered in one of the class discussion. Once time value of money is understood, tools are evaluated into capital budgeting to help financial

decisions in planning. In the leadership assignement for this course, I interviewed Steven Segundo, President of Private Wealth Group, LLC, established in 2002, private investment management firm. In the research, the information based on influences of personal finances was shared that led him in to a successful career as a business investor in stocks, bonds and other equities.

Negotiation and Deal making, this course gave you the time to find out who you really are as a leader, entrepreneur, and individual. In the first discussion of class we talked about who we are, how others may see us, and what are our strengths and weaknesses. I described myself artistically creative in expressing my vision. I am confident on my choices and I enjoy the negotiation of creating collaborations with other creative business partners. I am most afraid “if” my visions never come alive in production and losing an opportunity of success in the Entertainment Industry. In this course, we also had the opportunity to practice management as an artist recruiter/producer or as the actor/artist. The process of negotiation can be used on anyassignment in life and will help make situations flow well than what we all may image. The leadership assignment was about an experience I had working with a well-known event planner in Chicago, Illinois, Armelda Byrd. As a student learning the structures of negotiation and deal making, taking advice and pointers from my interview has shown reality of business choices and satisfactory. There were examples of emotions, appreciation, preparation, communication, and relationship bonding.

Product and Artist Management was a very exciting and fun course that took everything course learned before into a recap on how we can produce artist management as an example with our business production. I used “Drake” for an example of developing his career with promotions through Pink Poodle Party Productions and sponsored by Sprite. What made this exciting and fun to experience is that we had to present the assignment as if it was a business proposition for investors.

Christina Martin, creator of BAL, is an Entertainment Business Entrepreneur from McDonough, Georgia. She graduated high school at McDonough High School in the class of 1995. She attended University of Colorado at Boulder, graduated with a Bachelor’s in International Affairs. . She is huge Rock and Roll fan and loves working around Rock Stars. She is currently living in Los Angeles, California, where she has built her foundation of Backstage Artist Lounge. They are noticeable by their image, produce by sponsors and serve as hostesses to all major festivities and events throughout the nation. They connect with talented bands for product sampling and relationship building opportunities.

Advanced Entertainment Law, legal persuasion, for business leadership by the law and knowing how to keep your business actions safe and secured. This was a very informative course. This course has shown the importance for any market that your safety on knowledge and business is pitched by the legal facts and statistics in the book of law. For example, Pink Poodles Ownership and Copyright Legitimates: Copyrights, Trademarks, The Overview of Privacy, Publicity, and Defamation Laws

Misappropriation of Name or Likeness, and the Negotiating the Rights Agreement are a few selected topics that I chose to discuss for my research paper on the legal aspects that will help my business. Those leadership activities effectively express the security of Pink Poodles Party Productions brand, trademark, and representatives legally.

Entertainment Media Publishing and Distributing, the business strategies started to become more noticeable. Press kit, business strategy, and the necessity of having an agent were developed in this course. Here’s an example content of how I produced my Business Strategy:

· MISSION STATEMENT

· EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

· COMPANY DESCRIPTION

· PRODUCT

· MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION

· MARKETING & PROMOTION

Internet Marketing and Web Search Optimization, I liked this course, it was mostly used on blog development and Google communication. We discussed how we feel education is advancing and is it better, worst, or will it become better. I quote from a previous assignment, ”Legitimately, I think that the Internet is critically and informally useful. I believe that it is resourceful in creative descriptions in writing and designing. It is faster and easier to manage. There is so much information loaded on the internet, it’s bananas work, for example, you can type in any word, phrase, quote, or scripture and there will be some related information all across the world that informs you with information from people’s point of view research. The Internet provides advanced studying from a book, magazine, or newspaper but it can be distracting and make a person lazier.” Also, this course helped envision digital and social marketing to connect with your audience. For Pink Poodles Party Productions, our top promotions on web base are used on Facebook and Twitter.

Mobile Marketing and Commerce was a study on how mobile devices are an advantage for business, I interviewed a few people in the age groups of 14 – 35 on a potential survey for mobile marketing and the usage of any cellular device. Examples of what people like and dislike about their mobile devices. A brief description of how consistent cell phones, home phones, emails, and etc are used on the daily basis. Honest opinions on what people want and need to help build mobile communications. The statistics of this assignment will build my business plan by keeping people informed in the most convenient way such as emails, text messages, and other mobile software downloads, e.g. Facebook, to make sure that my company recognizes what is popular.

Business Plan Development the class that sorts everything into a complete creation. Categories discussed and combined in research were Investments, Branding, Product Positioning, Strengths and Weaknesses, Communication Strategy, Goals, and Product and Services. Some of the critical and key components while investing are preparing methods to a realistic financial investment business plan that will lead into a growing successful business, for example, Fortune 500. Research the industry where your business belongs to evaluate competition. Find placement location for the company’s market. Customer evaluation to make sure that you are in the right direction and that your business serves as it should. I plan to incorporate a safety net of Pink Poodles Party Productions since it is an event promotions company, cash flow and marketing research are highly important as is for all businesses. The business plan needs to be structured in an easy understood business plan to where investors will know that we cover parties and our brand souvenir products only. My business should be structured in an organized overview and prioritize what products and services are going to be distributed to the market.

Last but not least, Leadership Portfolio and Business Plan Thesis is the complete series of events formulated into a presentation of a complete preparation. Ready to be served.
